The
Solio Bolt travel solar charger is your perfect companion, keeping you online and in-touch on the go with it's on-board battery and rotating solar panels.
What does the Solio Bolt charge?It charges thousands of gadgets - from your smartphone and MP3 player, to your e-reader, GPS, digital camera, lighting products and headsets - virtually all small (low voltage) electronic devices that can can be charged via a USB connection.
Simply connect the device to the Bolt using your device’s own USB charging cable or the included Mirco USB cable if applicable.
The 1Amp USB output charges target devices at the same rate as a typical wall charger. A typical smartphone goes from zero to full in just under three hours. The Bolt will give most smartphones two + complete charges!
It also features a charging mode optimised for Apple products which allows for the quickest possible recharge of e.g. your iPhone.
Please note that the Solio Bolt cannot charge Notebooks or Laptops.

The Solio Bold holds charge for up to a year.
The ingenious design of the Solio BOLT allows a pencil to be inserted into the central, which makes the Bolt act like a sundial. Simply point the Bolt towards the sun and rotate it until the pencil no longer casts a shadow. Adjust the Bolt each time the bolt casts a shadow.
When the Bolt is not spun open to capture energy from the sun, it folds closed into a compact travel format that fits in the palm of the hand. At only 5.3 ounces it tucks into a backpack or messenger bag and provides battery back up for USB powered electronics while on-the-go.
One button does it all: The Solio Bolt has a single LED push button. When the Bolt is capturing energy from the sun or from a USB wall charger, the button shows red. Push the button one time and the Bolt flashes 1 to 5 times to indicate battery level and begins energy output. Push the button one more time to turn off the power. Also use the LED button to switch between normal and Apple optimised charging mode.

Optimised Charging:
While electronics are changing all the time, there are to standard charging specs that devices adhere to - a CTIA standard charge output which most devices follow, and an Apple charge output mode which Apple products follow. The Bolt is designed to switch modes, allowing for the most efficient charging of all devices regardless of which charging mode they require.
When the LED blinks green, it is in the CTIA (normal) output mode. To switch modes, simply hold down the LED button for five seconds and the LED shows blue to indicate that is is delivering the Apple specified energy output (for e.g. iPhone and iPod).
Please note: NOT switching the charging mode will not harm any of your devices - it just means that they might not be charged as quickly as possible.
Heat and Chemistry:
The Solio Bolt utilizes a high temperature rated lithium ion-polymer battery. Unlike other battery chemistries, lithium-poly works perfectly for the high-heat of solar charging and the 60C specification means the heat of the sun never interrupts efficient solar charging. When the useful life of the rechargeable battery is over, the Solio Bolt's battery may be user-replaced with a few simple turns of a screwdriver.
